HP Bagging deck vs regular deck
Background: Have a 26HP Briggs on a GT5000 Manual trans, 50" "regular" deck. It's a beast, seldom if ever bogs down while mowing. About 4 years ago bought a Craftsman 98645 26 HP Kohler, Hydro, with 54" bagging deck. The Kohler unit has to be run real slow (ground speed) if the grass is heavy and even then lugs. I'm talking about just mowing, no bagger involved. While I have issues with Kohler, not ready to say that the Briggs is more powerful. Think we all know that the HP decal on LT/GT's is more of a marketing than an engineering decision. Both machines are well maintained, blades kept sharpened and balanced, etc. Doubt it's the additional 4" cutting width that's to blame. Mowing is always WOT. What I'm thinking is the bagging/high lift deck does use more power and also believe that the hydro is not as efficient as the straight manual trans which would also use power.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Not looking for "adjust the valves, check for frozen idlers, check mandrels, etc."

Hello all. Need some help a a 1973 140 with mower deck issues, looking for new double row pulley. For center blade 48" deck # 042473M its the pulley that the drive belt from engine goes to. PP20VA46 No Throttle Control
The governor in my Poulan Pro PP20VA46 recently blew. I replaced it today and now I have no throttle control. The engine (20hp Intek V Twin) starts, but only runs at a low speed and will not respond to the throttle. I have triple checked the linkages and all seems correct. Any suggestions? Thanks.
case 444 help needed
I recently bought a 82'-83'? case 444. The tractor goes forward and reverse as it should but the lever wont stay in place at whichever speed in either direction that I choose. It appears as if you should be able to move the lever in increments of either forward or reverse speeds. The only way I can keep it moving is to hold the lever in whichever position I want or zip tie it up to something to hold it. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Minor problem...
I have a Troy Bilt Bronco. I noticed the deck was a little loose last week. The rod had come loose from the deck on the left side. The diagram was not very good at deciphering what had come loose. I am assuming it was a bow tie cotter pin - as there was one installed on the opposite side. I ordered a few, but they seemed a little bigger than the ones that were installed when the tractor was built.

Is it just me, or are these tractors built not 100% in accordance with the parts manual?

The manual said the part was 714-04043, but it was a little big. And there was nothing on the diagram to state what it actually was - but they seemed to have used these pins along the deck where bolts should have been. 🙄

Any feedback about what I should be using will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve
IH 454 3pt hitch adjustmant arm?
Ive got an old IH 454 and the adjustment arm for the 3pt hitch doesnt work and it just droops on that side. When you tun the crank the shaft turn but does raise or lower. Is the anything that can be repaired or is it just to be replaced. ? If it can be repaired how do I go about it.

Thanks
