Renault modus stops while driving

Hi

Problem with modus 2004 1.5 DCI

Stopped while driving and then would not turn over with lights on dash.
Read check fuel injection.

Stood for three hours then started OK but cut out after three minutes ( not timing belt thank heavens) with same symptoms. 62,000 miles since new.

Any ideas of possible problems ?? Anyone had similar issues??
