MOT play tests

Hi Guys, I'm about to put my car in for an MOT - I'm just wanting to know how much play is usually allowed on the driveshaft and the tie rods?

The Offside driveshaft has about 1mm play if rocked towards the front and back of the car -it takes a bit of force to feel it. More notable is that it sounds like a horse clip clopping on a cobbled street when steering on a near to full RH lock. Is this a fail generally?

Tie rods - road wheels front when held at 3-9 o'clock have about 5mm offside and 2mm nearside? would these generally be a fail?

I'm looking at trading the car in a few months and just need a bit more MOT on it. I've always put it in with replaced parts if play was present, so I've never had any chin scratching.

The only definite fail is a cracked windscreen, but I'm loathed to replace it to find I need to replace the entire steering system, as I'll bite the bullet and trade it now.

Thanks
