Mk II Clio Clutch Issue

Hi All,

I am having the an issue with my girlfriends MkII 1.2 Clio Dynamique (80k). Drive literally just disappeared all at once after having performed perfectly for a 200mile journey - Had no clutch slipping, no gear selection issues. Clutch pedal has not fallen to the floor, clutch pedal feels normal regarding pressure, just feels like the bitting point is beyond where you let the pedal out to. You can put the car into first and release the clutch and effectively go nowhere.

This happened 200 miles away from home - had an AA recovery back to the house via to pickups - interestingly neither of them thought it was the clutch, they said that from what they could see the driveshaft looked fine too.....so im kind of left stumped - feels like it is something simple to someone in the know.

Any ideas on thinks I can look into trying myself? They both mentioned linkage at one point - not sure what or where to start....
