With mine (older, 1.5dci and less power) gear changes below 1800 can leave me floundering as low down torque before turbo comes in (can't say kicks) is poor.
Higher revs no issue and no lag that is noticeable.
I suspect your turbo gate settings may need a tweak.
Of course the computer will not show this as a fault but really the techno kids ought to have at least checked operation with some old fashioned common sense and a pressure gauge.
And before anyone asks, not a clue how to alter on yours or if it is adjustable, just to me, severe turbo lag is indicative of the turbo not spooling up or the gate not opening at an appropriate time.
Could be down to the design/factory set up but if the dealers are admitting it doesn't seem right, I doubt it.
