Megane Convertible no dash instruments working

Evening all.

I'm here as a bit of a last resort. Two local garages (one a renault garage) have had our 55 plate megane convertible for over 2 weeks.

The initial problem was that it just stopped running whilst sat at traffic lights. It was recovered and traced to a lose wire on the flywheel sensor.

They have had it for another week as there is another issue that seems to have arisen since taking the battery out to charge...

The dash is now permanently illuminated, even with the ignition off - the photo was taken tonight with the ignition off. This stays like this even when I lock the vehicle. The speedo and the rev counter do not work, and none of the lights come on when I turn on the ignition. There is no display in the centre, where the trip meter is, and the indicators do not make any noise when in use (although they still work).

The garages have returned the vehicle (along with a hefty bill!) as although they have got the car running, they cannot fix the dash faults - both garages have tried. Apparently the car isn't talking to the diagnostic computer.

All fuses have been checked and it looks like the garage have tidied up the wiring loom by the battery tray.

Any ideas, or places near leeds that may have a better clue....

Cheers
Michael
