Fault Code 4109 (Factory Code DF139)

This fault has been diagnosed by the garage on my 2001 Scenic 1.9 DTi, it was found when the heater plug light stayed on, unfortunately we cannot find anything that will tell us what it means. The code reader says it's the 'valve injection timing device', again we cannot get any explanation.
