Conflicting oil information

Apologies if this is in the wrong place.
Firstly, I know very little about cars and am trying to learn but everywhere I look gives different information! I just need to buy some oil for my Renault Grand Espace The Race 52reg. Some say 0/40 some say 10/40 some say part synthetic some say fully and halfords say a completely different type altogether!!!

Please help... Which do I buy and more importantly can you help me learn??
