http://ift.tt/1QLSuDt this link shows how to measure resistances. with these two bits of science that proves resistance tells all you should be able to work out most faults by, measuring the resistance via cables to component, bearing in mind if no resistance and no completed circuit then wire is broken. also wire might be only holding on one strand if so the difference in resistance check on cable via above link will give you a idea, high resistance will lower the voltage.. all components have a cold resistance ie not plug in.
