Renault scenic, lost oil and car stopped suddenly

We have called the RAC twice in the past 2 days:

1. Making a loud ticking noise - RAC said its the broken seal on fuel injectors. Booked into diesel specialist to fix but on the way there problem 2 happened

2. Loud bang on the A1, car stopped immediately, when I looked all oil had been lost..

Wondering if this might be a major problem and not worth getting fixed or any ideas appreciated.
