Transmission problems with 1977 300
Always looking for help. LOL
Ya having issues with the trans on the 300 and I have been searching for any technical data.
I took it apart and found the bearing on the main through shaft near the pump damaged and the shaft very wore. The locking snap ring that holds the spring in the pump was out.
Called our local dealer near by and says there is no information for that shaft any more so likely won't be able to get it but he was going to see what else he might be able to find. He thought he might have a parts machine out side but it was a 400 or 420 and mention there not the same parts.
So here I am looking for any options to get it back in service before the snow comes in heavy. hopefully not for a couple months.

Inherited a new to me tractor
Hello, I just inherited a roper 16 t with rototiller and a mower deck. Looking foreword to sharing and getting some good information.
Mower deck spindles, why does FSM say to install the grease seals with lip facing out
04 Cub Cadet 44" zforce deck, rebuilding it with new spindle housings and seen in the repair manual that the grease seals on the housings need to be installed with the lip facing outwards.
The new aftermarket mandrels i bought had the seals installed the normal way, I popped them out with a flat head and will be reinstalling them with the lip facing out but I am just curious:
What is the reason for the seals to be installed with lip facing out? Is it because they mate up against the metal dust caps and therefore debris/water must then try to climb up the lips in order to contaminate the bearings?

I need some help
I am missing a bracket for the sickle mower that I have for a Bolens Ridemaster and I have not been able to find one.
I can make this bracket but I don't know the size of it.
I have made up a drawing of this bracket and I'm hoping one of you that have a Ridemaster with a sickle mower can fill in the measurements for me ?
I would really appreciate this ..... Thank you.

Mahindra 2615 HST starting problems
I have a 2006 2615 HST on some property I own in the Hill Country of TX. It's been reliable, and I've only had to change the radiator and battery outside of normal maintenance.
Most recently it would not start for my son when he went out. I assumed a battery issue, so the next time I went out I took a new battery. After installation, it still wouldn't start. In fact, no response what so ever - glow plug indicator or lights. I keep a "Jump-N-Air" in my truck, so just to be sure, I connected it to the battery and the tractor rolled over and started. I assumed the new battery was drained, so I filled feeders and other things for a couple hours. While running the lights worked fine. Afterwards, however, it would not start - nothing. Overnight I hooked up a charger, but the next morning the battery still showed "charging" and I got no response when I tried to start the tractor. Since I was leaving, I pulled the battery and headed home. Turns out the battery was fine and it charged once removed from the tractor.
Went back out with a fully charged battery and again no response. Added the "Jump-N-Air" and it rolled over again - barely - but started. Once running, everything works fine.
I'm not a mechanic, but I disconnected the wires from the starter and cleaned the connections. Maybe this helped some - the glow plug indicator now lights up with just the battery installed, but it will not quite roll over. It takes the "Jump-N-Air" in addition to the battery to roll over and this seems to be getting harder.
Starter problem? Other?
Thanks,
JEB

Pennsylvania Panzer tractor - $500 (westfield, ma)
Text from Craigslist:
"I have for sale a Pennsylvania Panzer. The tractor overall is in very good condition. The grill has the words "Pennsylvania Panzer" cast into the grill. The tractor is 95% there. Any parts not showing are I a box. It comes with an extra set of correct front rims and tires. The tractor was part of a payment for doing some engine and restoration work on my friends sears suburban. It is a great winter project. If interested please call 413-374-nine-five-two-one, ask for Tom"

Flyball spacer...as long as I'm here?
Pulled the p218g out of my 317 to replace the ignition module. Should I replace the flyball spacer as long as I'm in it this far? Never had a problem with the governor, but don't want to have to pull it again later.
