JD 455 54" Mower Deck Rebuild

JD 455 54" Mower Deck Rebuild
I have had my 1995 Model 455 since 1997. I bought it with about 300 hours on it and now have 1760. It has been and continues to be a great machine. It is time to give the 54" mower deck some attention.
I am in the process of rebuilding all of the spindles, replacing the idler pulleys, etc. AND swapping all of the components over to a brand new JD OEM 54" deck shell which I bought through CL. In the course of doing this work I figured out that I am missing the bushings (Part # M112835) that go on the J-pins which attach the lift arms to the mounting points on the left and right side of the mower deck. I do not recall ever having bushings on those J-pins...seems they were not present when I bought the tractor 21 years ago. Kind of wondered why the fit was a bit sloppy and never investigated quite far enough until now.
I have now bought new bushings and they fit snugly on the J-pins but will not fit through the lift arm holes.

Does anyone have a 54" HD deck on a 4X5 that they could post a picture of how the J-pins with bushings and lift arms all fit together. I could drill out the lift arm holes to make all of this fit but want to confirm how it should be arranged before doing that.
Thank you!
'72 John Deere mower deck drive belt question
Hi, all-

I have just restored a '72 110 and have a question for you all. I purchased a new John Deere PTO deck drive belt from greenparts. The belt sort of fits, the tensioner is all the way back, and the belt is still on the loose side. Is there some sort of gross adjustment you can make to the tensioner, or is the belt just slightly too long? If it is the wrong belt, what is the correct belt part number and where to get one?

Thanks!

Jim

One new member and 2 old tractors.
How is everyone? As the title suggests, I'm the new guy. I am searching for info and guidance and stumbled across this forum.

I have a Cud Cadet 7360SS and a Yanmar 226D. The cub will be a bigger project. The yanmar is functioning but oversur on maintenance.

I am on a small farm in our 50th state and mostly need to mow, move mulch, dirt, rocks, and gravel.

I cant imagine doing any of this w/o a tractor. Such a great tool.

Thanks in advance for info I have already absorbed and for any I have yet to enjoy.

Have a great day.

Dual Wheel Question
Being new to Gravely WBs, I have a question about installing dual wheels on my 2-Wheeler. Currently I have 4-bolt one-piece tubeless rims and steering brakes. From looking at the IPL, I see there is a HD wheel kit that uses a different hub with 2-piece rims, which from what I can see fit the dual wheel spacers.

Is there a way to use my current hubs and rims and get to duals? I'm looking for the duals because I'm out hogging in the woods and am looking to prevent getting stuck in so many holes.

Thanks!
pull behind spreader
I can't figure out where I should ask this question on pull behind spreaders.
My old 20-year-old agri-fab finally gave out, I'll bet I spread 10 tons of fertilizer with that old spreader. So I went looking for a new one and what I found is not good, most very cheaply made but not cheap.
So my question is what does one buy now. I'm not looking to spend $200 on something that lasts 1-2 years or am I looking to spend $1500 on one either. What you bought lately and how is it holding up.
John Deere STX-38
Am trying to change the oil in my John Deere STX-38 hydrostatic transmission, and looked for a drain plug. Found two that look like one might be a drain plug. Anyone know for sure if one of these is the drain plug? Picture is taken looking at the bottom of my lawn tractor, one showing both potential drain plugs, one of the allen head one, and the one kind of recessed in the case. I didn't want to loosen one if it held something inside that might spring away.

Home built steel targets....
Some of the toys we play with around here are a little brutal on these steel targets so Im contantly repairing and improving them but its a fun part of the hobby. First one has 4 small 1/4 plate targets, second one is 3/4 plate, both of those are free standing with a built in slide hammer(black piece on the bottom) to drive them in, the last one is 1/4 plate targets except for the black center of the white circle which is 1/2 plate and hinged so if your good you can flip the center without moving the outer white ring. I just made the trailer for that one a couple days ago so I can pull it and everything else needed out to the back 40 and set up an instant range most anywhere.
