Hello
Hello from West Michigan . . . I am new to MTF. I joined the forum to learn more about tractors and tell you about what I eventually will learn about my tractor, Mahindra 2538.
Anti scalp wheel - add on
I would like to add a 3rd and 4th anti scalp wheels to my X300 42 inch deck which came with just 2. Also I would like the type that comes on a shaft and by simply pulling a pin can be adjusted, if so I'd do all 4 wheels. Bolt on would work and welding on is doable also. Has anyone seen a kit or made their own?
Here is the ones I'd like shown on the 48" deck

So how bad is it?
Earthquake 5070 control cables, HELP !!
I have an Earthquake 5070 Ser 6255 that the forward cable seizes up on and the reverse is stiff so I figured it was time for replacements. They are both the same cable p/n. I looked up the parts and ordered online and they were wrong. Mine are 39" cables with a barrel shaped ferrule at the end. The part they sent was 48" and had a much smaller ball at the end that I'm worried will pull through in short order. I contacted the online store and after a number of back and forths they give up and said to ship them back.
I ordered a pair last week from a local dealer (they looked them up, forgot to ask what they were ordering, my mistake) that showed up today and they too were the 53630 cables with the little end.
I contacted Earthquake and they too said the original part number was superseded to this new part number. Earthquakes reply: The cable part #53596 has been changed to 53630
Anyone have a similar tiller and found a cable that fits ?? You can tell from the photo it's not going to work for very long. The ball is actually smaller but in the photo it's closer to the camera so it appears a little bit bigger than it really is.

2015 GX 54 fab, Minnesota
Selling my 2015 GX54 which is an excellent mower, just expanding more and now need an even bigger machine.
This is the top of the line XT2 and competes with the JD x300 series for Heavy Duty.
Only available from dealers, not in stores. The 54" deck cuts fantastic and is currently set up with the mulch kit and blades. I have an a new set of mulch blades and also new origional blades if you don't want to mulch. The FAB deck is HD and comes with a lifetime warranty. Added rear led tail lights and also rear side mud guards.
I have upgraded the air filter to the larger pro series w/ cover and have a new spare filter to go with also.
The larger multi trac 22x9.5 rear tires are fluid filled and add a lot of traction over stock.
It has the HD K58 trans axle and a 26hp pro grade engine, overall it is a beast for power.
The seat is the upgraded cub with armrests.
Machine has 117 hrs total. The 100 hr service included oil, filter, air filter, fuel filter, grease joints and blade sharpening.
It's ready to mow and I am still using it so may add another hour. Will be freshly cleaned up before sale.
Extras: new air filter with prescreen, 2 sets of blades(mulch and regular), oil filter and spark plugs.
Asking $2550 OBO save over $1000 off new.

Battery charger got rained on
A few nights ago a surprise rain came through and rained on my battery charger as I was charging a mower battery. The extension cord was ran into the bathroom and it looks like the breaker built in to the 110v outlet tripped. I have a fan blowing on it now. Is it ruined or can it dry out and be used?
Woods Loader
Hi All,
It's been a while since I've been here, somehow I got lost in the shuffle :tango_face_glasses: Since those days, I've changed location, and tractor(S). I still have the Craftsman (Roper) GT18, with a PF Engineering designed loader on it. I've since added EPS (electric power steering) after reading several articles on the subject. It makes it a lot easier to steer with a load in the bucket:tango_face_smile_bi . I no longer have my Kubota L245DT but have very recently acquired a B7100HST 4X4. As luck would have it a NOS Woods 1008 Loader came along at a very reasonable price. It is just the loader, no mounts, or hydraulic valves. That doesn't seem like a big issue for me since I've had some experience fab'ing the PF loader. However this loader is designed to be an "easy on/off" loader, so the mountings would require the ability to utilize the Woods system. I've contacted woods, with no help from them. In this day and age of lawyers and lawsuits, I can understand their reluctance to assist. The Woods rep also noted that the suggested loader for that tractor, in that series was a 1006 loader. Again siting the legal liability issues I get it, but in all practicality it could be argued that any loader can be made to fit any tractor (within reason) safely if done properly and from what I've seen there is little difference. I have found little information on line on the subject, and don't know the original loader mounting kit model #. I can fab most if not all the mounting needs but a few illustrations could sure help. In particular the manual mentions when attaching the loader to curl the bucket to seat the loader into the "shoe" in the mount. THAT is something I can envision but a picture of the "shoe" would make it easier to duplicate. The other issue is where to tap into the tractor hydraulics. I've had some input on that, but more is better right?:tango_face_grin: Any insight greatly appreciated as always.
Be safe all, and keep the rubber side down.
