8n carb problem
I bought an 8n recently. Ran a brush hog several hours on it with no problems. next night I go out and stall it going up a hill and then I can't get it to start. Clean everything out on the carburetor and it runs for about 10 minutes and stalls out again but won't start. clean it out again and ran for about 20 minutes last night about 10 minutes this morning than I did it again. I screwed the jet all the way out and it runs fine but I just set the jet back in the hole, didn't even screw it in. and it starts running rough again at wide open throttle. every time when I've cleaned it out I haven't been able to find any water any dirt I even took the tube to the carburetor off and ran some gas through a coffee filter and never got any dirt coming out of it. the only thing I can figure out is maybe it's getting a little bit of dirt through it while I'm bouncing. the screen on the intake elbow is missing, would that make that much of a difference on filtering the fuel going to carburetor? From what I can see in the pictures of them the mesh isn't very fine.
Hardfacing.tines?
I received a new set of standard Troy Bilt tines. These are NOS tines from Gardenway. Is it ok to hardface these tines? Will it do more harm than good? Are they worth the trouble? What should I expect to pay for hardfacing 60" of metal or how is the price figured? Can I do this myself with a Mig welder and the correct wire and if so, what is the correct wire?
Lots of questions. I know, but I can find precious little on youtube.

Fair price for a Gravely 16G Pro
Asking your opinion of a fair price to pay for a 16G.
Sellers words 'One family owned since new and I bought this summer. We think around 600hrs. He worked at Gravely and it has been maintained well.;
I'm interested in a Gravely rider.
Is a 16G a good grass cutter?
I know them to be well built.
What do I look for when I go look at it. Weak points that require inspection at that # of hrs.?
Thanks Eric

Deere x320 tranny whine
My brother recently purchased a used x320 (2007) with 150 hours. Machine is in great shape. Someone bought it mowed for a few seasons and then started mowing with something else. My brother started mowing this week. He had a fairly small incline near his driveway. He mentioned that when he was going up the incline, the tractor wouldn't move. The wheels weren't spinning and there was a significant whine from the transmission. He said later when the machine warned up, it climbed just fine and the whine went away. Is this something we should be concerned with? The machine did sit for several years without use.
$1 to the first person who says change the tranny oil. 😊
