The Renault Sport RS 01 Interceptor Concept is one car you don’t want to see in your rearview mirror.
The French automaker has taken its purpose-built race car and set it up as a highway patrol pursuit vehicle, sporting a black and white graphic scheme with neon yellow stripes, strobe lights and traditional red and blue police flashers.
In the rear there’s even an LED sign that reads “Follow Me” to tell drivers or motorcycle riders to pull over once they’re overtaken by the concept. And luckily for those in France, it is only a concept designed for publicity.
The Renault Sport RS 01 features a carbon monocoque chassis that weighs less than 2,425 pounds and sports over 500 horsepower and can reach a top speed of over 186 mph.
Under the hood is the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine found in the Nissan GT-R NISMO, but it has been detuned so that it can race under GT3 regulations.
