Hoping someone might have had something similar and could offer some advice.
I have a 99 Megane Scenic 1.6 Petrol. A couple of weeks ago the ignition barrel collapsed and the key was stuck inside. I bought a new barrel and swapped ok, put the new key blades in the old fob and all was ok.
Drove for a week with no problems, then I drove home from work fine, half hour later I went out and the car wouldn't fire and the immobiliser light was flashing fast.
I tried all the bypass suggestions on youtube, but the flash wouldn't slow so I couldn't enter the code, I called an auto electrician who spent a couple of hours looking at it, the keys were fine but he recoded anyway and we had no joy, so he suggested that it was the transponder ring as that had come up with a fault on his diagnostic machine. I replaced that today and still no joy.
Does anyway have any suggestions? I can't really afford to spend more money for someone to look at it when it got me nowhere last time.
Also, has anyone used the ECU decoder that you can buy on ebay? Would/should that work for me?
Sorry for the long post, thanks in advance for any ideas or suggestions!!
