Door skin although relatively cheap to buy is a laborious job as it entails removal of old skin cleaning surfaces welding new skin on sealing prep for paint then prime & paint before refitting door.... a second hand door can be bought painted and fitted at a fraction of the cost BUT keep all receipts as magistrates may require them and may award you damages should culprit be fined and you awarded reimbursement of your losses any money paid to courts (might be different in England) is put to the compensation before the fine BUT you must keep expenses to minimum
