Need help with wiring

My wife went to put it (setting 4) on and it let a little bit of air out (a bit like you would expect from setting one)and then stopped.

So far ive checked the fuse under glove box which is fine, it stopped working on all setting so i guess it wasnt the resistor, i took out the fan and connected it straight to the battery and it spins really fast, so i guess its fine, i put a multimeter on the wires that plug into the fan and i get a 12+v and as i turn the fan down from 4 the voltage drops which i guess it should, so i guess the switch works too?

i really want to get this sorted, any help would be great.

its a 2006 1.5dci megane
