Megane II 175 DCi not starting

My 2007 RS Megane 175DCi started fine this morning, reversed 2 metres and died - pretty sure I didn't stall it (flat driveway, never stalled it before, used to rx8 which stalls way too easy). Now it won't start. It cranks over fine on the push button start. The glow plug lights up briefly before it cranks. It says Braking Fault on the dash after it has given up cranking.

It has had a duff abs sensor for a while now (while I get round to changing it) but really don't think this is the problem since it hasn't been a problem for a while.

My wife filled up with diesel the other day, but then drove 7 miles home, then two 1 mile journeys. Just found the receipt for diesel (phew!) so don't think that is the problem.

My wife said the other day it said it needed the keycard to shut the engine down, but it shut off with the card in her bag after the third go (don't think it is connected).

Looking at it with my Clip show it only has an old error DF997 Control Unit -> Heating element connection from 674km ago (guess this is the glow plug?) and there are the ABS sensor error and the tyre pressure monitor errors. No other errors. Glow plug fault wouldn't cause it cut out.

Brake fluid was full. Coolant was slightly low - could still see it in the reservoir - less than a pint to top up - could be from bleeding itself. Oil is fine. Intercooler/turbo pipes all still attached (although shouldn't have cut out without them)

Car has been running great except for the abs lights.

It was very wet last time the car was taken out. I do suspect electrical. I do have a spare brand new fuse/circuit board that lives next to the battery - i know these are prone to getting wet and thought that was a solution to a previous problem (which was actually a broken wire).

I've left the battery charger on it while I have dinner and shall try again - although voltage was still 12.4 after quite a lot of cranking. The battery is only 6 months old.

Any thoughts where to start?
