The lights on our phase 2 Laguna II were noticeably dim compared to other cars with normal halogen lights so I took them off and proceeded to cut the back off so that I could get the projector out along with the glass lens. I found that the nearside light had been replaced in 2009. On both lights the lens was filthy so I cleaned them. On the original light I found that the silver part of the reflector was no longer shinny on the upper side (possibly due to heat) which is the part that is reflected out of the projector. As there is nothing to be done about the loss of the reflective surface I decided to turn it up side down but with the shutter on the right way up. Doing all of this has made a huge difference to the light, not that I have driven the car at night yet to compare against others but the light looks much better and whiter than it did before. So if you are suffering form poor lighting is worth taking the lights off and cutting the back open to clean them, just make sure you seal it back on afterwards.
