Dont honestly know why, the only generic cam shaft sensor i have ever got away with was a ford mondeo,petrol engine the old mark 1 but it wasnt quite right at that,it was a bleeder to kick in when hot,After that have always stayed with the genuine for cam and crank sensors,
IF you have no cam to crank coherence fault and clip(good thing about the diagnostic machine it cant lie)would say bite the bullet ,before you start ripping wires apart,
