Recently I was in heavy traffic and my hazard lights started flicking on, briefly at first until they were running fully and I was unable to switch them off.
I took to the nearest side road, parked up and spent about 15 minutes messing with the button, the indicators, the intenal auto locking button, stopping, restarting, all of the above buttons in any order with the ignition in various turns of operation and nothing I did would turn them back off.
Eventually and for no apparent reason they switched themselves off again so I was able to make my way home, only for exactly the same thing to happen again halfway back.
I have since removed the fuse so have no indicator lights in any capacity which is basically the same problem in reverse.
I also messed around with the hazard warning switch, removed it, shorted out the various connections with paperclips in the hope that it might confuse whatever logic is causing this and nothing has helped.
I can only assume that the problem is something to do with the multitimer unit, does that sound about right?
If so what are my options? If I take it out to check over the relays and cirtuitry myself will that (as the Haynes manual suggests) require the thing to be completely reprogrammed - even if I'm putting the same unit back in?
Or is my only option to take it to a renault professional?
Cheers,
JW
