Clio 1.5dci check injection HELP

Hi all
I have the dreaded check ignition light appear on the dash. This just came on and I only have the car 3 weeks.

The light is off when you start the car, drive it for 2 mins it comes on. Car won't rev past 3000rpm. No smoke just runs rough and slow.

After reading that this is a common problem with a mark 3 clio 2008 1.5dci I started by cleaning the EGR valve which was pretty carbed up with black soot. Cleaned and replaced this made a slight difference where the check ignition light became intermittent. Sometimes when the light comes in the car will rev over 3000 sometimes won't.

I then decided to change the accelarator pedal as this as cheap option and a punt but made no difference.

Car sounds a bit tappity and smells strong of fumes outside. Air filter is quiet black also.

I bought a throttle position sensor also but I have no idea where this is located.

After reading similar issues I am starting to think this might be a failing diesel pump and the dreaded metal fillings in the fuel system.

Any ideas would be appreciated ? ?
