Kangoo ecu problem

my kangoo wont start. i got a new pump fitted and alot more parts and now I am been told it could be the ECU. I cant afford a new one, so i am looking to get a second hand ecu kit but does it have to come from the exact same model car as mine? Mine is an o7 1.5 DCI expression 86bhp 5dr. I would really appreciate if someone could tell me.
