Had the issue for a while and have had the cables replaced and motor works fine as engages when we turn the car off and sometimes using the switch. Ive just replaced the switch with a used one and the brake will still not apply manually. I checked the fuses under passenger seat and all are ok. I did find the dreaded puddle under the seat and the underfloor containers. Ive cleared bonnet drains and dried the floor but it looks like the wiring has been sat in water and some corrosion has set in. From research i have found this can cause handbrake malfunction so wanted to ask your opinions if the coroded wire can be easily replaced? Handbrake applies fine when you switch the car off so the motor is working but there is a breakdown between the switch and motor. Its due an mot in a fee weeks and cant throw anymote significant money at it.
