Grand scenic rear door wont open

Hello all.
I have just become the owner of an 05 Grand Scenic 1.9dCi.
Everything seems fine so far (touch wood) except the nearside rear door won't open from inside.
I've activated/deactivated the child/window lock several (tens of) times in the hope this would do something, but no luck.

Has anybody got any idea where to start to fix this issue?

Edited. Just been out to move the car, and the 'check airbag' warning light came on. Hopefully it's just the wiring (under the drivers seat?), but is there anything else worth looking at?
