First of all, the car that I have is a Renault Clio 1.2 16v on a 53 plate. The car has air con and the fans are controlled digitally in the cabin.
The problem - I purchased this car second hand last week. I didn't check the fans when I viewed it and after buying it the very next day I realized the fans are not working. The digital display works (so I can increase/decrease the power of the fans, I can control where the air is directed etc) but there is no air coming out.
I took it to a mechanic and he has told me that the car needs:
* a new heater blower motor (that's compatible with air con models and that has a 'recirculation' feature on it
* a new heater resister pack
He quoted me £300 for those two parts new. I declined and said I will check to see if I can find a second hand/used part.
I have been checking online but there are so many different variants that now I am confused and not sure which is the right part for my car. I did ring the Renault main dealer and they have refused to give me the part number (fair enough as I wasn't intending to buy from them)
Can anyone help me with the following questions:
* does anyone know the part number for the above two parts so I can order the right parts as I have seen some on ebay.
* any advice about the issue I am having? would the heater blower motor solve my problem?
