Automatic handbrake is not playing the game.

Hi All
Here we go.. Had a new clutch and flywheel fitted and when I came to pick the car up the Automatic handbrake is not releasing, when I say not releasing it will when moving forwards but it’s not has smooth has it was before and now it feels like a tug (for a better word) then the car moves of. On reversing the break just locks and won’t move an inch. If I press on the brake pedal and then push the handbrake button down it then releases the brakes. I never get the error msg on the dash...
