Megane Mk3 2010 - how to check rear lights are on in the daytime!

Sorry for the basic question (only just bought the car!!). I have the owners handbook with it but cannot for the life of me see how to check the rear lights are ok the front lights only come on when its dark (Auto is set on the main lights control).

It passed a 12 month MOT a few days ago at a main dealer so I presume they must be ok but I like to check before every journey & cannot find any way to see them in the daytime!
