Speed limiter doesn't work - Grand Scenic

My Grand Scenic has a single rocker switch that should turn on the Cruise Control (CC) or Speed Limiter (SL). Well the CC works just fine but the SL doesn't work at all. Nada.
I've been living happily without the SL, and can continue to do so, but (read my signature) I lay awake at night wondering if I can fix this without screwing up the CC (which I use a lot).
Just looking for constructive suggestions - nothing too radical.
