I am after a bit of advice. I have a 2.2dci espace mk3 it broke down last year and has been sat outside my workshop (I am electronics engineer) until this week when I decided I would tackle the repairs as no local garage fancied looking at it.
The car has done 123K and I brought it at 100K a week after buying it the turbo went so I had that replaced and the cam belt done, it had been ok for a while but then developed an oil leak I had someone look at it and they said it was coming from the throttle body housing and was likely to be caused by crankcase pressure anyway a few days later the car packed up on the motorway and has not ran since.
I have had a look on the forum and it seems to point towards the rocker cover gasket, I have removed the rocker cover and to be honest the gasket does look ok I do have a new one so I plan to fit that at the weekend.
I have a few questions,
Do I need to silicone just the corners of the large gasket or should i silicone all the way around it.
What are the torque setting for the injectors and all the bolts on the rocker cover and is there a tightening sequence.
I also suspect the intercooler is full of oil what is the best way to empty it, is there anyway it could be done on the car or do i need to take it off.
I am going to clean as much pipework as i can is there anywhere i should pay extra attention too.
Sorry for all the questions, I am dreading putting it back together and getting it right.
Any help and advice would be a great help.
Thanks,
Carl
