New Guy
I am a hobby farmer and looking for a place to get answers when I have questions.:tango_face_smile:
gtgravely site
I'm trying to order some parts from gtgravelyparts.com The website appears to not be working right. I can't find any way to get the checkout button to activate.

Anybody got hints on how to make it work?

Todd, if you see this, please PM me.

Thanks!
Question for MF 178 Owners - Help Please
Hi,

I've just bought a beautiful old MF 178 but the transmission dipstick is missing & in its place there is just a red plastic cap.

I actually have an extra engine dipstick which fits but is obviously longer. If you have a MF 178, could you please tell me how long your transmission dipstick is and how far down it the Max and Min markers are.

Thank you!!!

2 old mowers
I have 2 old mowers that still run well. One is a 1977 Jacobsen with a non-original Briggs and Stratton 3 horse. I was given the mower by someone I know and got it running. It had a throttle problem where it would not hold a speed. It sped up and immediately started to slow down again. After fixing that, I used it to test spark plugs and found that this rusty old one worked best in it. The other one is a Craftsman from the 80's. I call it "old oil burner" because that is exactly what it does. It burns oil, mostly when first started, or when put under heavy load. It has mismatched wheels because they have broken over the years. I use this one the most because the 4.5 horse engine has more power to it than the 3 horse one. Also, a friend of mine has 2 original lawn-boy commercial mowers that still work.
B6100HST glow plug issues
Sure hope somebody out there can help me with this one.
Mid 80's B6100 with the following situation:
Used to be that when the key was turned to the left there was a clicking noise (maybe every 10 seconds) and the glow plug indicator would glow and the tractor would start every time without fail.
Now when the key is turned to the left no clicking noise and the glow plug indicator takes over a minute to start to glow and the tractor is hard to start.
battery is at 12.2 volts, checked voltage at 10.2 volts on the glow pug side of the indicator.
Not sure if the indicator is failing, the key switch is failing or I have glow plug(s) failure
any ideas?
which goes on the crank first?
I took the pto clutch off my Ford last year (ok, well, it fell off last year) and I don't know which goes on first.. the adapter or the clutch.
can anyone set me right on this?

Fall auction
This coming Thursday is the fall auction at Beech Ridge Speedway. Plenty of old LT’s and GT’s to bid on, as well as a wide assortment of new tires.

Myself, I have a surplus of projects, but there is an older 345 in great condition but has a probable busted cam gear. Comes with a 48” deck and a 42” blower. Left brain says bid:tango_face_devil:, right brain says you’ve got enough projects, keep your money in your pocket.:tango_face_angel:

318 Deck Bent?
Trying to figure out if my deck is bent on the discharge side or if I am just missing an adjustment for the deck.

If it is bent does anyone have any recommendations on bending it back?

Backstory: My old deck that came with the mower had several holes rusted through on it and this is a replacement deck that I picked up for free from a family friend. Not going to turn down a free deck you know.
