Whistle sound from Transmission

I have a 2007 Laguna phase 2 which only has 56,000 miles.

It has developed a faint whistle type noise from the front and when rolling the car in neutral the whistle sound changes pitch either slowing down or speeding up.

One garage told me that it could be gearbox bearings but it should last for a very long time, another garage told me it could be thrust bearing and then a third garage said "It's a Renault it will be ok".

I'm not sure it is the gearbox as the whistle sound only happens when the car is moving or moving in neutral but never when stationary.

However, the car runs smoothly just as it did when it first came out of the showroom.

Does anyone have any ideas please?
