Jim and the Bridge

Jim comes home after a long day at work, as he get's out of his car “poof “ cloud of smoke
and god appears to him,

God “we have been watching you and you are a pretty nice guy, you never ask for anything for your self work all day to keep your family and are always ready to help others, we have decided to do
something for you, so is there anything we can do that would make your life just a little bit better?”

Jim “ well I live in Fleetwood and work in Barrow so I have to drive 2 hours each way every day
if I had a bridge from here to Barrow it would cut that down to ½ a hour each way and I would have
more time to be with my family and help others”

God “ well that’s a big ask even for me, it would need to be 20 miles long across Morecambe Bay
it has 33 Ft tides we would have to cross the Lune Deeps 360 Ft deep it would need to be high so
even the biggest ships could pass under it, hundreds of thousand tons of cement, steel, concrete, and stone
would be needed, his there nothing just a little less difficult we could do that would help you?”

Jim “ well there is one thing, and it would help all men, what I would like is to really understand
woman, to know what make them tick and how they think, so I could always say and do the right
thing, no more silent breakfasts.”

God “ would you like a 2 or 4 lane bridge?”
