Check emissions intermittent fault
Hi, have a Kokeos 175dci which had the check emissions fault come up, the exhaust symbol then stayed on for about 2 wks (but was driving ok) then hubby drove it & it seemed to be losing power to the point he thought he was gonna get stranded (remote hilly area with no mobile coverage).
We took it to the local garage but the warning had disappeared & they weren't able to replicate it.
Had it back a week (driven daily between 20-80 miles) then last night the emissions warning came back, plus the car seems to be losing power again getting up hill. In 2 / 3rd gear I had my foot on the floor but it wouldn't go above 2k revs or 25mph. It was fine once I got onto a flat/downhill road again & into 4-6th gears.
My daily commute is 25 miles across hills in mid-Wales & the last 10 miles is mainly downhill doing 40-60mph.
I'll suggest the lambda sensor to the mechanic (he thought it was an electrical fault when he couldn't see anything mechanically wrong with the exhaust) but would this affect power & cause loss of acceleration?
Currently in sj66's garage:
