2011 Megane 1.6VVT issue

Hello,

Just to give a bit of history of the car, its 2011, only done 20,000 miles when the issue started and my average MPG on the clock is saying 32.1 and will not go any higher.

I brought my car just over a year ago and have had a on-going issue as sometimes when you press the start button the engine with make a nasty grinding noise rev's will get to about 1000 then the engine will stall, press the button again and then the engine will start fine. Every time the issue has popped up I've taken it back to Renault dealer I got it from and they have not been able to find any fault at all. At the moment it is back with themselves and so far they are telling me the same story that they cannot find anything wrong. Now looking on the internet at forums people have said it's the dephaser pulley but I've only noticed it with the mk2s not the mk3s(as to the forums), the other issue is very poor MPG, now yea I know there are loads of factors like weather, road condition, lead foot syndrome, type of fuel, etc but I drive very well, never rev above 2000 as that's when the car says to change gear but I can never get anything higher than about 32 average. Oh if anyone is wondering as the Renault customer services manager asked me this...My average MPG is 32.1 and my average MPH is 19.3, dunno if that helps but oh well. My Question is, is everything wrong with my car down to the dephaser issue (grinding noise & poor mpg) or is there something much worse with it, also what should I do with the dealer as again they are telling me they are unable to find an issue yet again!
