Renault Clio 1998 speedometer

Hi,

My Clio's (10/1998) speedometer sometimes simply drops to zero.

Sometimes I see the "electrical fault" symbol light up (it's a yellow rectangle with a wave inside).

Is this something difficult/expensive to solve?

Is it required to be diagnosed by Renault?
