Starter help!

I have an issue with my Starter motor (I think) so far I have checked the fuses and tested the relay. Smacked the starter a few times started the car and still no crank. I could hear the clunky solenoid for a while but after trying repeatedly even that stopped. What is best way of getting to this motor? Under the car looks easiest. Also any idea what this connector is in my fuse box? It's a 3 pin?
Car is 2010 MK3 clio 1.4 dynamique petrol.
