Tips on Thermostat Gasket GS 2005 1.6 vvt

Make sure the pins screw in easy,nothing inside the thread holes, most times if thermostat housing as leaked pins go rusty, a clean with a wire brush on the pins,
Clean mating face well, I tend to use penetrating oil on wet and dry paper.
Can see from your picture you have brake and clutch cleaner, that works also.

I can only go on what I use, as dont like using sealant near oil ways.
High melting point/wheel bearing grease, I just fill the part where the rubber seal fits in with grease, push the seal in and smear some on the mating face.
replace the pins up, but dont pinch them tight until you have all pins in position, then you can tighten them
