OK, I posted last week aboutt my cam belt being mullered by the fan belt. I have stripped out and got access to cam belt etc. I've set the engine at
tdc using a timing pin and the top pulley is out by a tooth. Removed the belt but I can't rotate the top pulley to
tdc mark. Will move backward a few degrees and back to where it was but that's it. So I'm looking for some advice, if the pulley has bust its key then how likely is valve damage? Is it that I'm hitting compression stroke? It seemed pretty solid. Really at a crossroads cos I don't want to spend out on a pulley just to find the engine is stuffed I'd rather just get another lump. Any advice welcome thanks
