After spending all afternoon searching the forums and Internet I'm going to ask a question.
My 2000 Clio 1.4 16v has just developed an intermittent fault which is getting more regular.
When turning a corner or accelerating away in 2nd gear the car hesitates badly and then jolts forward. When this happens the "STOP" light and the Coolant warning light both illuminate together, as the car accelerates away normally the lights go off. Also if I sit in the car and let it idle the revs will quickly rise to about 1500rpm and then go back to normal, as if Someone had blipped the accelerator. - again the two lights come on together. So far I've spent about 2 hours checking the wiring loom, removed and cleaned crank sensor as well as replace the connector. Undone and remade all other connectors I can find.
The Car doesn't overheat and warms up to a normal temperature. The fault can occur hot or cold.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
