Automatic clip gearbox issue

Hi I have a 06 Clio automatic. A few weeks ago driving home I heard a pop like a big shot of air and car tried to jerk forward and then ‘check gearbox ‘came up on info screen ( but engine management light was off),it still drove ok albeit, a bit laggy when pulling off from traffic lights and roundabouts.
