renault trafic problem

hi we have a Renault traffic 2002 van and there seems to be a problem with the body control modual and some times van won't start but take the box out put it back in it will start but no indicators work .
been told by renault need new box and reprogramming and want near £500 to do it which we ant got . any one come across this problem any help would be great .
trying to do her up as a camper not having much luck so far
