renault grande scenic parking brake

Hi anybody possibly know why the parking brake isn't releasing properly causing it to really rumble when driving, having to pull over let it cool down as burning hot then starting aging which seems to solve it shirt term...this is on the drivers side rear wheel?! Any help gratefully appreciated. Thanks in advance
