Unsure if this is the right place. I am needing some help removing the airbag on my Clio MK3. I have tried several times to turn the wheel 180 degrees, Put a screwdriver in the fold to "find the lug" and slide the airbag up.. Is this right? Or am I missing something out?
Reason I am wanting to remove this is to install the cruise control buttons. I am at the last stage of my mission now!

I have a Renault kangoo with 165/70/R14 81 T Tyre's
The problem is the Renault manual says the front tyre pressure is 2.4 Bar about 34psi that seams ok, but the rear is 3Bar about 43psi that seems a little high to me.
Dose any one know if this is ok? ps my van is loaded with tools and a roof rack with no ladders on it at the moment.

A few days ago the "Check Emissions" warning appeared on the dashboard as well as the Engine maintenance light. When I start the engine there is a strong smell of petrol fumes. The car drives fine, no loss of power or engine shaking, BUT I have noticed that the fuel remaining range is inconsistent, it has a full tank of petrol and indicating 320 miles and going up and down ranging from 310 to 330 in the space of 1 minute. This is not normal to the car. I am not too sure whether not the oxygen sensor could be faulty or needs replacing. I have also checked the coils and all them are fine.
I hope someone could please help me with this problem.
Thanks All

We had it re-gassed and it worked for a while but now doesn't - the compressor pulley clutch does not pull in so I assume all pressure has been lost. There was a lot of oily dirt around the pipe connections at the aircon compressor so I'm pretty sure that's where the leak is (i.e. aircon lubricant leaking form the joints and picking up dirt).
I got a pack of replacement o-rings from Renault and disconnected the pipes at the compressor but there are no o-rings fitted. The pipes have a thick plastic collar (I guess some sort of thermal barrier perhaps) but it is very hard so not sure that it would form a seal without an o-ring of some sort in there?
The car had the cambelt replaced before we got it so it's possible they removed the compressor while doing that.
Question - should there be o-rings in the joints and if so can someone help me identify which of the 30+ that come in the pack I need to use?

Hello, recently bought a Renault Clio 2003 expression and have been insured for one day (today) and have driven it practically all day to get used to the car for the drive to work on Monday. Now whilst I was in a reasonably built up area at a traffic light, i did stall, then proceeded to stall again, much to the amusement of my girlfriend. The light was still green, so had a brief check around and pulled forward within 5-10 meters of the traffic light is a left exit. Someone had attempted to over take me and the car behind therefore not in view of my mirrors and attempted to turn left crossing my path, I managed to break in time without touching the other car ( very thankful) which lead to a toot from the car behind, which I understand however not sure if directed to me or the car that cut me off. My question is was I at fault for potentially poor observation even thought the car that cut me off was in my opinion, travelling excessively fast! For the past couple of months my Megane has been playing up, it's a 2012 1.5DCI. When accelerating, most noticeably in 4th gear usually, acceleration isn't very smooth, it'll accelerate for a couple of seconds have a little pause then accelerate again for a couple of seconds, once it's got the revs up to about 2500 or so, it starts behaving normally again.
Sometimes and far less often, it'll do the same as above but the drops in power are huge, usually when the engine is being worked harder than usual, e.g. going up a steep hill, now living in Cornwall I'm blessed with nothing but big hills to drive up all the time! The other thing I've noticed is when one of these big drop offs occurs it will deactivate the cruise control, two or three times now I've come to a big hill with the CC on and it's started putting the power on to maintain it's speed and then just cut the CC out entirely meaning I've got to dive on the accelerator pedal to stop myself rapidly coming to a stop, usually having to drop a gear as it'll refuse to accelerate when I do try otherwise.
It's under warranty still and been in with Renault for 2 days, they basically plugged it in, said there's no stored fault codes, had an engineer drive it home for an evening and it behaved itself (I hate intermittent faults so much) so they've given up and handed the car back to me.
Can anyone suggest what it might be, I'm pretty much useless with all but the basics, but a list of things I can ask Renault to at least look at would be helpful!
Thanks in advance! ]]> Engines MonkeyBoy84 http://ift.tt/1R8PYcz http://ift.tt/1UoAmzk Sat, 02 Jan 2016 13:22:33 GMT Hello everyone and a happy new year to all.
Recently we've been having some odd issues with the Scenic and I hope someone might be able to offer advice.
It's often extremely difficult to get the car into gear, though when it's turned off it's fine, and often after a period of time.. it's fine. There aren't any odd or unusual noises anywhere. Very recently the dash started showing the 'brake fault, stop' message, and upon inspection it looked like the fluid was a little low.
A mech friend has suggested that the reservoir for clutch and brake are shared, and the issues could all be related to a clutch slave. Is this likely?
Thanks
Dan. ]]> Transmissions d0mokun http://ift.tt/1R8PVO6 http://ift.tt/1UoAnDi Sat, 02 Jan 2016 11:59:42 GMT Hi,

We have found another 2012 petrol tom tom and the sat nav is controlled by a remote control rather than in a centre console. We are wondering if we can fix our console into the new car?
We are very keen to have a console rather than just a tray and have seen another car with a console but it is more expensive and done more miles so seems silly to buy just for the console!
We need to make a decision tomorrow really so if anyone knows if we can retrofit our console that would be great. We don't have the bolts as couldn't get them out but otherwise took everything we could from the console. I don't even mind if it can't slide as long as it is bolted down somehow. I dont know what is under the tray and if there are any suitable bolts etc?

It's always started absolutely no problem, but went to start on leaving work and it just clicked & lights went out. I checked battery connection and positive was loose, tightened, and started straight away - this is all probably irrelevant, but thought I would mention!
Didn't drive van again for a couple of days, but it started straight away & drove my 15 mile journey running absolutely fine with no issues. Was parked for 40min, got back in van, again started straight away (though was obviously still warm as hadn't been left long) but as I pulled away I stalled it. Started it up again (again started right away) went to pull away & realised that I was getting no response from the throttle pedal & AGAIN stalled it (to the frustration of man who was waiting for me to pull out, most probably swearing under his breath about b***** women drivers!!) started again and just lifted my foot very gently off clutch enough to crawl into another parking space. The engine/exhaust emissions light is on, the car with a spanner through it (engine electronics?) and the pre heating system light.
In the end gave up hope on van that night as it was late & I had my 3 year old with me, and despite fiddling with connections by the throttle pedal and another big electrical connection just inside bonnet I was achieving nothing. Next day went back to van -which now would not start- with hubby who had a fiddle with same connections himself & then called AA. At this stage I felt that as I used throttle slightly when starting usually that it was the fact that the throttle wasn't working that was preventing the van from firing when it was cold.
AA man came from a different perspective, he felt that there was another issue that was causing the van not to start, and that the same issue was not letting the engine rev, so that the problem wasn't that the throttle wasn't working, but that something with the engine was stopping the engine revving. With quite a lot of easy start & then with the Airflow meter disconnected he eventually managed to start the van, and low and behold the engine revved when the throttle was depressed. Several times the engine was stopped & restarted, still with difficulty until it was much warmer. He tried several times starting with airflow meter disconnected, tried a couple of times with it reconnected & nothing (though I did feel he persevered more with it disconnected!) and so deduced that it was probably the Airflow meter that needed replacing. I returned home, bought another airflow meter, fitted yesterday, but still a nightmare to start and still the glow plug, engine management and lights are on. Once started though it is running fine, no throttle problem (though I felt this morning it seemed as if it took a second before the effect of the throttle kicked in, but might just b me) and once warm will start ok. No issue with running and still drives as it should at full power. All three of the warning lights are still on. Really hope someone can shed a bit of light. Thanks in advance for any advice.
