Car service light

Hey everyone,

My car (clio 1.2 tce 2008) service light has come on. The service due message had come on since October, but didn't think anything of it as the car had been serviced in August (previous service before that was april 2013). Having said that, one day it said service due in 10k miles and the next day it said service due. Today it has gone to Service due now with the spanner light on.

I recently had the brakes changed (pads and rotors) on the front and the cars brakes sometimes feel spongey and sometimes rock hard. Could it have something to do with that?

I'm wondering, do I need to take it to someone immediately to get sorted/diagnosed, and does it have to be a Renault dealer (first car so don't know the protocol) or can I wait until Monday?
