My wifes 56 plate megane convertable 1.9 dci has suddenly stopped starting. It stopped on the road and the AA who recovered the car back to my home diagnosed low fuel pressure on the injection rail.
When you squeeze the primer bulb continuosly the car will start but then when you stop squeezing it will just stop as if its run out of fuel.
I have discovered that air is flowing back to the primer bulb from the filter area in the fuel line when the car stops which leads me to think that i may have a small hole in the fuel pipe from the filter to the fuel primer. Im not sure though as i drive a ford and this is my wifes car which she has only had since middle of october last year.
Is this a known problem that occurs and does anyone know which pipe it will most likely be. Im not sure but does the fuel return go via the fuel filter?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my wife is driving my car for work at the moment and i want my baby back....
Many thanks
Darron.
