Wiring in Ammeter on 8N
My 8N has a hole where amp meter used to be. Can anyone please send me a pictorial wiring diagram so I can install one? Thank you very much!!:tango_face_smile:
345 lawn tractor randomly disengages the mowing deck
I have a year 2000 John Deere 345 and was mowing today when the mowing deck disengaged. It didn't engage again right away, but did a short time later. But it didn't stay engaged and kept dropping out randomly. Not sure what's wrong, but my uninformed guess may be the engage switch (not sure exactly what it's called).
Any experience with or knowledge of this problem?
Thanks.

52" Snowblower for Allis Chalmers 616 620 720 & Simplicity 9020 4041 4040
Not used much but sat outside recently. Auger straight, bearings are good. Splines, fear I, and driveshaft are good. Motor for chute works intermittently...tap it and it worked haven't opened up to oil but my guess is that would do it. Comes with Mule drive and belt. $400. Located between Rochester NY and Syracuse NY.
GX345 Fuel consumption?
I am curious what other's experience is with their GX345s. I rebuilt the engine this past spring and used 5 gallons in 6.8 hours. Fuel consumption was much higher prior to the rebuild.
I don't put many hours on per year as the tractor size is overkill for my yard. I purchased it to be able to tow a chain link drag harrow and large lawn roller when I rehab'd the lawn a few years back as well as for snow removal off a large driveway.
The bulk of run-time has been cutting grass. Maybe an hour of run-time was spent dialing in the carburetor and other adjustments. I have a 48c deck and missed the heavy spring grass growing season so the engine wasn't working very hard.
I realize that individual results will vary but I am still curious what others are experiencing.
Thanks.

Intro
Hi I'm Geoff, Just bout a new Holland L170 and I'm hoping to resolve a few questions I have. Thanks in advance!
JD model TY24377 fertilizer spreader
While out on a nice cruise I noticed this clean tow behind broadcast spreader among some other stuff so I turned around and came back to check it out.
$25 later I loaded it in the 49 and headed off to continue my cruise.
It's real clean and everything functions.
The JD model# is TY24377 80 lb Fertilizer Spreader.
Seems well made.
This is the 2nd JD branded implement I've picked up lately to be pulled behind my Kubota LOL.

1971 sears suburban 12 electrical issues
I have a 71 suburban 12 that I've owned for about 25 years, and use just about every day in my mower repair shop to move broken machines in and out of my shop that are just to large and heavy to move by hand. I used it about a week ago one day and it worked perfectly as it always had. parked it for the night, and the next morning I went to start it up and there was nothing. I think I have forgotten more about these old electronics, or I'm just missing something. but I checked the battery. it is fully charged. load test showed the battery is fine. cleaned all the battery cables and terminals. pulled the ignition switch out and cleaned every connection on it. pulled the brake pedal switch out, cleaned all the connections on it, and tested it to be sure it works with an ohm meter, and with someong holding the brake/clutch lever to ensure the tab is pressing the switch all the way in, and it works perfectly. cleaned the negative battery cable where it mounts to the engine block just to be sure I have a good ground connection, and even ran a second ground from the battery to the block to be extra sure it is not a bad cable. it seems like I have no power going through the ignition switch for some reason. in the on position, the head lights will not light up when I pull the switch out. the bulbs are good, and they always turned on if the ignition switch was set to on. I have continuity across the two battery terminals on the ignition switch when the key is turned to start. would a bad starter generator or a bad voltage regulator cause a no power issue in the entire system? it's like there's a blown fuse some where, but this old tractor has no fuse any where that I know of or can find. and I haven't worked on one of these old systems in almost 30 years so I think I've forgotten how to trouble shoot every thing to figure it out. I need some ideas here. I'm thinking either the ignition switch went bad, which seems to test good. or the voltage regulator failed, but I'm not sure if it would affect starting since they pretty much just maintain battery charging and12 volts for lights. or the starter generator went bad. but again I would thing if the starter generator went bad, I would have other signs like the battery not charging over a period of time, not work one day and the every thing not work the next. I would think the head lights would at least still turn on with the battery fully charged.
Top mounted starter isn't retracting well...
Hey all,
Talkin' about the S21ZPNC. Has the top-mounted recoil starter.
The last few times I've used the mower, the starter rope needs a little nudge before it will retract into the starter assembly. It's been a while since I've messed with one of these and the last thing I want is a spring explosion. Any hints?
